Overview

teraSEO is a Chrome DevTools extension that performs on-device SEO analysis of web pages. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

Privacy-first design

Data Collection

teraSEO does not collect or store any personal data. Static SEO analysis is performed entirely within your browser with no external communication.

Permissions Explained

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely for on-device functionality:

Permission	Purpose	Data Handling
activeTab	Access the currently active tab to read its page content (HTML, meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data) for SEO analysis.	Read-only. Data is analyzed in-memory within the DevTools panel and never stored or transmitted.
scripting	Inject the content script into the inspected page to extract SEO-relevant page data (meta tags, Open Graph, Schema.org, etc.).	The content script only reads page DOM elements. It does not modify the page or access user credentials, form data, or cookies.
storage	Store user preferences (e.g., Groq API key for AI Analysis) locally within the browser.	Data is stored in chrome.storage.local only. Never transmitted to teraSEO servers.
host_permissions (*://*/*)	Required to inject the content script into any website the user inspects via DevTools.	The extension only activates when the user opens DevTools and navigates to the teraSEO panel. It does not run in the background or on pages the user is not actively inspecting.

What the Extension Does NOT Do

• Does not collect browsing history or track visited URLs
• Does not access cookies, passwords, or form data
• Does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry
• Does not modify web page content
• Does not run in the background when DevTools is closed
• Does not access data from other tabs or windows

AI Analysis Feature (Optional)

teraSEO includes an optional AI-powered analysis feature. When you choose to use it:

• API Key: Your Groq API key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local. It is never sent to teraSEO or any server other than Groq's API endpoint.
• Data sent to Groq: When you click "Analyze with AI", page metadata (URL, title, description, heading counts, link counts, image counts, schema types, and technical signals) is sent to Groq's API for AI analysis. No personal data, cookies, or form data is transmitted.
• Groq Privacy: Data processing by Groq is governed by Groq's Privacy Policy.
• Opt-in only: No data is sent to any external service unless you explicitly click the "Analyze with AI" button.

Local Storage

teraSEO stores only user preferences (such as API keys) in chrome.storage.local. SEO analysis results exist only in memory during the active DevTools session and are discarded when the panel is closed.

Third-Party Services

teraSEO optionally integrates with Groq's AI API for the AI Analysis feature. This integration is user-initiated and opt-in only. No data is sent automatically.

Children's Privacy

teraSEO is a developer tool and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
